As a parent, I can honestly say this was one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever had. The captain was absolutely incredible with our son—patient, encouraging, and genuinely excited to help him catch fish. Watching our little guy reel in his first fish with that huge smile is a memory we’ll have forever.
The water was crystal clear, the fishing was nonstop, and to top it all off, we ended the trip with a stunning Florida Keys sunset that felt like the perfect finish to a perfect day. It was one of those moments where you just stop and take it all in.
We left with fresh fillets bagged up and a very proud young fisherman who hasn’t stopped talking about his “best day ever.” If you're visiting the Keys, I cannot recommend this charter enough—especially if you’re looking to create special family memories. I have spent 50 years fishing with countless guides and when you strike Gold with a man like Kerry it takes the experience to a different level. I had the pleasure of fishing with Dez and Jose twice this week. Dez and Jose were both professional, organized and helpful in every way. We had people that had fished and people that hadn't and these guys made sure every single one of us caught fish and had fun. We caught such a wide variety! I can't say enough out them. The owner Kerry made sure I got on a boat, when no one else would (I was looking for a split trip initially). Again, I cant recommend these guys enough. I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Hennessey Sportfishing. We had made plans well in advance and had a lot of questions as first time charter guests. They were all answered timely and Captain Kerry even gave us insight into other things we can do at our vacation spot and other fishing tips. He also rearranged his schedule to accommodate a morning trip for us. There was no wasted time on the trip and we caught more fish than I thought we ever could. Went out with Captain Des and Mike. Did the 4 hour trip and came back with more fish than we ever expected. It was super fun and it was pretty effortless, but the fish are out there and Captain Des knows all the best spots. Highly recommend the 4 hour option if you want to just get out on the water in the morning, and come back with a couple days worth of dinner, but still have some daylight left to go out do stuff. We fished a mahi tournament with Hennessy Sportfishing and had an incredible time! The crew brought great energy, kept us on the fish, and made the whole experience fun from start to finish.
